My Friend's Silver Nail

(My Friend's Silver & Black Nail!)

Since I just had my baby girl, I'm always in the house. Last night, my friend stopped by my house, and I did her nail. It was so much fun to hear about what's going on outside of the house. Don't get wrong! I'm enjoying time with my little one, but I need little time to keep up outside of the world, and also do what I love to do.

What to Prepare for 3D Art?

I get a lot of questions about 3D art!
So... I want to give you some tips about how to do 3D art !

Today, I want to talk about what you need to prepare to start 3D art!
Here is the list of what you need to have!!

  1. Good Brush
  2. Acrylic Powder
  3. Liquid
  4. Dappen Dish
  5. Paper Towel
  6. Aluminium Foil

That's all you need to have to start 3D art!
As I wrote before, I do want you to have good brush!
Also, I want you to have good acrylic powder and liquid.
I know there are many cheap ones, but don't buy these cheap ones!!
There are reasons why these are cheap!!
The cheap ones are normally very hard to work with, and the colors fade to yellow!
I personally like to use Ezflow acrylic system, but please try other acrylic systems too! I want you to find the one you are comfortable to work with! Everyone has different preference!

These are the ones I like to work with!

Next time, I will talk about the basics of 3D art!

Check Out Trend Colors!

(It's my nails for September 2010!)

Have you checked what's the popular style in fall 2010? I saw a lot of animal prints and military style in Japanese fashion magazines! As you change your style each seasons, you should change your nails too! I know that French Nail is the way most of women go to, but don't be standard!! Go different! If you think that colorful nails are hard to match your clothes, check out seasonal trend colors! These are the colors you would see in fashion! If your nails are in the color palette, you don't need to worry whether your total look is going wrong!

Invest in Brushes!

(3D Arts I'm practicing now! Teddy bear and My Melody)

When I practice 3D art,it's very frustrating if it doesn't come out the way I want to do. If you are the nail art beginner, the first thing I can recommend you is investing in your blushes!!

When I first start practicing 3D nail art(about 4,5 years ago),I bought $7 Kolinski brushes at a local nail supply store. The cheap brushes get damaged easily after one use!!!! Not only that, this junk cannot even mix powder and liquid very well!! There was no way I could make delicate 3D art with this junk!I struggled making simple 3D art and I even thought "I have no talent to be a nail tec." After I bought this $7 brushes 5, 6 times,I decided to purchase "OPI Kolinski Brush", even though it was 3~4 times more expensive than the brushes I had. The OPI brush was awesome!! It gave me a lot of control for the amount of liquid and the size of mixture! Especially, after I practice with the junky brushes, the changes were just sensational!! I used the OPI brushes more than one year with no problems!

From this experience, if anyone asks me about 3D art, I always say "Buy a good brush and do practice a lot!" That's the secret of how to be good at 3D art!

I recomend OPI and EzFlow!!

The Colors to Go!

I personally love to wear black and white.
You can wear these 2 colors any seasons, any occasions, and with any clothes.
If you wanna go little cute, you can add baby pink just like the pic.
If you wanna have cool look, you can add darker colors.
Black and white give you endless style!
That's why I love black & white so much!
